Good, but needs more punch.

It has the potential of a hip hop beat. The tempo's a bit too slow, but that'sa not too big'a deal. I'm not that big'a fan of the "Damani McDole Production" at the beginning, but that's just me.

The use of pads is good, I like that. The kick, though, is REALLY weak. I would personally add another kick to layer it, and EQ around 200-500 htz around 1 or 2 db to give it a bit more punch to it.

Also needs some more action in the low end. Add a bassline that'll move the people (hip hop is known for its epic amount of bass). :P

Other than that, it seems like this could be sang to. Good job man!

bass

is fucking epic

Thanks!
It makes me sad that I might never be able to create a song this good ever again :(

I like this a lot.

But it doesn't have a hip-hop feel. It's more downtempo, aside from the record-scratching.

To make it more hip-hop (if you want to), you should add more spunk to the Bass (right now, all you have is a extended sine wave playing one note throughout the song, it's rather boring). Lower that sine wave an octave, and give it more harmony. Make your beat stand out more. You want your kick to really hit the sweet spot, especially in hip-hop. EQ that around 200-500 htz and it'll give the punch most hip hop songs have.

I'm not really digging the guitar much either, but that's just my personal preference I guess, maybe subtract a little release from it to make it sound more in-line and in rhythm with the beat.

Great stuff man, keep it up. :)

Unfinished sound...

This, in a nutshell, is a premade loop in FL with some phasering thrown on it, and a couple of preset synths played in order of the original music, with boo bass.

It's not very original (yes, game remixes do need originality). Add a little more spunk to it, EQ things, mess with synths, make your own sounds, add more of an underbelly (pads and subbass). Use your own drum samples, cut things up. Make it your own, be creative! :P

It's not bad, I'm just saying, production should be more than just throwing some synths together. Make it fun man! And keep producin'!

DreamEater responds:

i admit being one of my older songs it is lacking in alot of useful effects
however
just because a preset loop is used
doesn't mean it doesn't sound bad ass
i noticed that you used some preset loops in you music 2 and no one docked you
so why is it that you feel you should dock me? =/
it is also just a revamped version
so dont go crazy.
thanks for reviewing

I like this a lot!

You have all the sounds you need. I can only name a few things that should change.

Your leads are a bit too loud. Your clap is too loud, and could probably use more reverb. Also, the song could use more action n the sub-sonic end of it. And your open hat shouldn't have a tail (ask me if you don't know how to get rid of the tail :P), it really gives the song a more muddy'ish feel. Also, when using a double-pedal effect, be sure to lower the velocity on the kicks that aren't on the beat, otherwise your mix with become overwhelmed with sound, and mixing will be thrown off. And, the song seems to clip in a lot of areas, make sure you don't go too haywire, and make sure your mix stays below 0 decibels at all times.

This song definitely has the potential to be a great track, man! Just add some bass and a tad more EQing. Keep producin' man! :D

DarkbearX ;)

So yeah, I'm review this.

Pretty clean intro, yeah. I like the chord progression.

The melody is good also, great job with that. But your drums are acting in the low-end way too much, eq them more around the mid-high pass and add a low-cut filter on them for good measure.

There's no sub-sonic sounds! Make sure your song has adequate bass.

Besides the two things I've mentioned, this is definitely a good piece of music. Keep up the great work man!

Great song!

It's composition is flawless really. The only thing I dislike really, is that everything seems to be sidechained to the kick, and it kinda makes it sound more... off beat, or hectic or something...

I tend to dislike that feel, but perhaps you did it on purpose? You're the composer. ;)

Keep producin' man!

cornandbeans responds:

Yeah, I didn't think that many people would catch that XD

I would have fixed it up if I didn't have to go back and export and then re-master...

So yea, I dislike it too :P

I love it!

And apparently the dude below me has not played Chrono Cross. What a shame.

Great job man!

kelwynshade responds:

I appreciate it. Glad you liked it!

Beautiful melody.

This is definitely something you can listen to over and over again without getting bored of it.

The only thing I don't like: The ending. It's extremely weak; it's basically telling me "god, I am fucking 'FINISHED' with this track." Haha, that mindset is pretty common though (for me anyway).

Still a great song, keep it up! 5, favorited, and downloaded.

What can I say?

This is just and amazing track! Haha. I'm a sucker for orchestral elements regardless of the type of music, really.

Really great work with the percussion, it's a hard element to master. The harmonies are amazing, and I can't say anything less about the creativity and diversity.

5/5 + Download + Favorited! Great job man. :)
